The Kaiserstuhl-Tuniberg is located on the Upper Rhine, one of the warmest regions in Germany. The Rhine flows around and borders the vineyards of the Kaiserstuhl in the west and is also the border to France.
Three towns lie directly on the Rhine: Breisach, Sasbach and Vogtsburg-Burkheim. There are border crossings/bridges to France in Breisach and Sasbach.
A local shipping company also has its moorings in Breisach: the Breisacher Fahrgastschiffahrt . It offers round trips, lock trips, day trips, theme trips and special trips.
In Breisach there are also moorings of "Croisi Europe" and "Viking Flusskreuzfahrten", both of which offer river cruises and also rent their moorings to other shipping companies.
On the Rhine and not far from the Kaiserstuhl, about 20 km to the north, is the Taubergießen nature reserve, which can be explored on a boat tour.
